2012 Fanatic Freewave Team Edition TE

The Fanatic Freewave Team Edition TE new windsurfing board is for wave, freestyle and freeride use.

Shaper Sebastian Wenzel’s perfected a range of smooth sailing compact styles. The optimum blend of speed and carving, slashing and sliding make these our most versatile shapes. Tucked rails, rounded noses and an ingenious CAD created rocker line unlock the secrets of early planing, control and top end. Starting in 75 litre (US box) and also available in 85, 95, 105 and 115 sizes, with Powerbox as standard, the smaller models excel in waves and high winds, while the larger styles focus more on low end, freestyle and blasting performance, but are certainly no strangers to the surf.

For 2012 they’re offering three top notch constructions. Select either the feather weight Team Edition (TE) with Carbon Kevlar deck and Carbon bottom versions, with specialist metallic airbrush finish over Carbon graphics, the Light Finish Custom Wood Sandwich, or the market leading Oxeon models in 85, 95 or 105 editions. Oxeon’s TeXtreme® Carbon Weave fabric provides the lightest and densest construction available for striking results in finish, weight, durability and stiffness.

• Modern short round-nosed shapes for balance, acceleration and easy riding
• Wide point forward of center to 70° pintail
• High entry rocker, short flat section and optimum tail kick for control and speed

Carbon Kevlar Light Technology (Double and Single)

The lightest and most impact resistant Carbon Kevlar, combined with a double PVC Wood Sandwich and Wood Carbon Heel Reinforcements guarantees the most efficient construction in terms of light weight with maximum impact resistance. The Team Editions of NewWave, NewWave Twin, Quad and FreeWave benefit from a double sandwich deck with Carbon Kevlar layups, plus Carbon bottom layups. The Skate Team Edition has a single sandwich deck of Carbon Kevlar and a Carbon bottom. New for 2012 is the use of special wood and pvc stringers, for extra stiffness and reinforcement in the bases, according to range of use each slightly different. All of these models are produced with the Light Finish sanded look, for extra weight savings, whilst the new polished and airbrushed rails and bases are the ultimate optic for 2012!

On every 2012 board is a small “Fanatic Ocean Minded” logo this is to signify Fanatic’s commitment to protecting the environment and researching more environment friendly materials, in all our products. Every detail of our constructions, packaging, printing and accessories is constantly analysed to try and improve our “footprint” on the environment, not an easy task as composite materials are not the most eco friendly. However plenty of resins, sandwich foams, eva pads and laminates are already being developed with a more green approach in mind, Fanatic is a leader in testing and further developing these and other materials.
