The Fanatic Ray Limited Edition new windsurfing board is for freeride and freerace use.

Comfort is critical to speed, and our mega fast Freerace shape makes the most of the race team’s rocker line. With added Power V bottom and double concave nose section for smoothly cutting through chop, the Ray’s compact outlines, has a streamlined pintail and thin round rail sections between the feet make high speed jibes a dream. All this combined with plenty of low down power for early planing. Fanatic’s CAD database has groomed four slinky models, all easy on your legs, in either eco friendly visible wood sandwich construction for unbeatable value for money, or the LTD Edition with Carbon Kevlar deck (Carbon Kevlar/Basalt Sandwich Light), awesome polished carbon rails and bottom optics. All models come with exclusive G10 CNC foiled Choco Fins.

Biax and Carbon Kevlar/Basalt Sandwich Light Technology

Top quality and high-tech specification Biax Carbon has a perfect weight to stiffness ratio as a result of its very fine weave, plus has fantastic dynamic flex. In combination with PVC Sandwich Technology and Glass reinforcements, it provides a perfect stiffness / flex / weight ratio. We used the same basic construction for our Freeride Limited Edition boards, except that on the deck we have a full Carbon Kevlar layup which has a better shock absorbing character than pure carbon, for more comfort, whilst offering a very stiff and light performance, which is needed for these high performance Freeride/Freerace boards (Shark LTD / Hawk LTD / Ray LTD). On the bases of the LTD boards we have the new innovative Basalt cloth, a cloth which is not only technically superior to many other standard cloths, but also environment friendlier in both the creation and re-cycling there of. All of these models are produced with the light finish sanded look, for extra weight savings, whilst the new polished and airbrushed rails and bases are the ultimate optic for 2012!

On every 2012 board is a small “Fanatic Ocean Minded” logo this is to signify Fanatic’s commitment to protecting the environment and researching more environment friendly materials, in all our products. Every detail of our constructions, packaging, printing and accessories is constantly analysed to try and improve our “footprint” on the environment, not an easy task as composite materials are not the most eco friendly. However plenty of resins, sandwich foams, eva pads and laminates are already being developed with a more green approach in mind, Fanatic is a leader in testing and further developing these and other materials.
