But at the same time the boards should turn even more radical when going down the line, which are opposing features you usually can't combine.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHere are the 3 major shape details our team has developed over the last 2,5 years (see TECH AND SHAPE DETAILS below for all other details):\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSTABLE YET RADICAL CONCEPT\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOur wave boards are 1-2cm wider than most other boards. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe increased width results in a more stable platform. This makes our wave boards as stable and energy-saving as a 5 liter bigger board while drifting\/floating and going over white water. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eMost importantly the additional width leads to an increased outline curve. This improves the maneuverability which makes the board turn as radical as a 5 liter smaller board. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe result is an unbeatable broad range of use.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e3-STAGE ROCKER\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUnlike the usual continuous rocker curve, our entire shape concept is based on a segmented rocker line. This accounts for the fact that the top- and bottom turn are two entirely different maneuvers. While you initiate the bottom turn more over your front foot (depending on the size of the wave) the top turn is only sailed over the back foot. This change in posture is the biggest challenge, especially when learning to wave ride - which becomes much easier with our 3-STAGE ROCKER.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe straight rocker section in-between the front- and back straps creates a super stable sailing stance\/platform so that you’re in perfect sync with your board going out or on the wave when switching between bottom- and top turn.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe nose rocker starts just in front of the front straps which helps to engage the front part of the rail when leaning forward on the bottom turn.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eKICKSTARTER TAIL: The tail rocker behind the back strap remains very moderate until the last 4-5cm from the tail where it transforms into a progressive tail-kick. This tail-kick generates a perfect water release and in combination with the flat rocker line results in a kickstarter-like acceleration as soon as you push a bit with your back-foot. Plus the tail-kick obviously allows for super tight top turns when snapping back the board with your back-foot.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSYNCED CURVES CONCEPT (rocker\u0026gt;\u0026lt;outline\u0026gt;\u0026lt;rail)\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOutline, rocker and rail shape are the 3 key elements that determine how a board feels and performs. In every rocker- and outline there are spots with more or less curvature. The same applies to the degree of rail curvature which changes considerably. To prevent the 3 curves from working \"against\" each other, the highest priority is to synchronize these curves. This improves the maneuverability which makes the board turn as radical as a 5 liter smaller board. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe result is an unbeatable broad range of use.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e3-STAGE ROCKER\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUnlike the usual continuous rocker curve, our entire shape concept is based on a segmented rocker line. This accounts for the fact that the top- and bottom turn are two entirely different maneuvers. While you initiate the bottom turn more over your front foot (depending on the size of the wave) the top turn is only sailed over the back foot. This change in posture is the biggest challenge, especially when learning to wave ride - which becomes much easier with our 3-STAGE ROCKER.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe straight rocker section in-between the front- and back straps creates a super stable sailing stance\/platform so that you’re in perfect sync with your board going out or on the wave when switching between bottom- and top turn.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe nose rocker starts just in front of the front straps which helps to engage the front part of the rail when leaning forward on the bottom turn.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eKICKSTARTER TAIL: The tail rocker behind the back strap remains very moderate until the last 4-5cm from the tail where it transforms into a progressive tail-kick. This tail-kick generates a perfect water release and in combination with the flat rocker line results in a kickstarter-like acceleration as soon as you push a bit with your back-foot. The legacy of the Flywave goes back to a rocker developed for Kai Katchadourian’s Peahi board. The  winger-swallow based outline was developed together with Marc Paré, who is now back on the team.  The constant curve rocker provides a lot of support under the mast foot which is what contributes to the enormous speed range of the Flywave. The wingered outline combined an ability to finish the bottom turn up in a vertical style with a good grip off the top.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the G7 Flywave development we have for the first time in some years made a few shape updates. The first update concerns the tail length. As some will have noticed, the G6 Flywave 72 and 99 already sports a bit shorter, and hence wider looking tails, than the rest of the bunch. For the G7, the 78 and 84 gets the same shortened tail and to some degree also the 90. The shorter tail makes the board snappier in the bottom turn, allowing it to go even more vertical while also giving the board a better flow in the top turn. The 98 instead gets a tiny bit longer and narrower tail, to add early planing support for bigger guys and bigger sails.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe have also developed a new size, the Flywave 107 L. During our prototyping process the 107 has been getting rave reviews, both from heavy sailors and mid weight sailor wanting a real floaty board.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe second change incorporated in all sizes is a new bottom shape layout in the rear of the board.  After several years of development our board designer, Ola Helenius, he has come up with a brand new Flywave design which uses the same central rockers as before, but has an increased and accelerated vee in the tail as well as a deepened tunnel concave inside the vee.
