The new Custom Quad 9 improves on the legendary speed of the Custom Quad 8, unlocking freer, slippier rail-to-rail performance with reduced weight. Faster ride, tighter radius, more flow. The Haiku Package reduces weight by 250 to 500 grams, depending on the model and size. By using lightweight components and materials, this reduction is achieved on top of the already imposing specs of the Pro Carbon construction.
The new Goya Quad 9 builds on the proven speed, ease of use, and wave-riding confidence of the Quad 8, while introducing a host of performance upgrades. Designed with a slightly more pulled-in nose and a progressive rocker curve, the Quad 9 delivers a tighter turning radius, while retaining the effortless glide riders loved in the previous generation, adding acceleration and top-end speed.
The new shapes and construction feel slippier, looser, and more rail-to-rail-oriented, offering performance once reserved for custom boards only. A refined building process with lighter, higher-density foam in varying thicknesses throughout, and continuous Carbon/S-Glass layering contribute to our best and lightest Custom Quad ever, elevating wave performance to a new level of precision and flow.

By refining the rocker, reshaping the bottom contour, and tapering the rails, the board’s efficiency, drive, and flow have been brought to the next level. Quick planning, fast acceleration, and a noticeably higher top-end performance, resulting in our quickest and most responsive rail-to-rail ride to date. Meaning you can make that section, make that lip, where before it would have seemed a far reach.
Shape.
A true World Cup wave board, the Custom Quad delivers quick planing and forward-driving carving turns, perfectly tuned to perform as a quad without compromise. Each model begins from the same master design to ensure a unified feel and aesthetic, then undergoes careful, size-specific refinements. Since rider needs don’t scale in strict proportion with volume, length, or rocker, each board is hand-tailored to a precise balance between proportional calculations and riding feel—crafted to match intuitive performance in onshore to frontside World Cup conditions.
A more pulled-in, higher front improves fit and control in the most demanding, tightest sections, while the reduced width in the middle minimizes drag, increases core center flotation, and speeds rail-to-rail transitions.
Bottom.
V blends into a single concave further forward, making it easier and quicker to respond for fast rail-to-rail transitions.
Rocker.
A new progressive-curve rocker creates accelerating yet easily controlled rail turns from nose to tail, resulting in the highest-elevating yet forgiving experience and ride.
Rails.
Thicker and fuller ahead of the mast track, to accelerate tail flow, the board feels surfy and forgiving up front, yet sharp and precise at the back.
Agility.

The Haiku Package is the exact construction our team riders ask for. This is the closest you can get to a custom competition board as used by Marcilio, Antoine, Takara, Kai, Javier, Keith, and Francisco.
In detail, the Haiku Package consists of the following features:
- Carbon. A full cutting-edge carbon schedule —deck and bottom —combining unidirectional, biaxial, and 0/90 carbon laminates —allows precise control of flex and strength, creating the cleanest, most responsive build with zero excess material. Faster acceleration, crisper rail engagement, and a more direct connection to the water.
- Materials. Fewer layers of stronger, more premium lightweight materials deliver the flex, refine the torsional stiffness, and eliminate the need for excess reinforcements, while maintaining compressive strength and giving an instant response to rider input exactly as needed. Higher Flotation leads to faster acceleration. Easier control in the air, faster rotations, and softer landings. Durable enough for the most dedicated and experienced riders. Not recommended for rental centers.
- Finish. The finishing process is refined, with a shorter mast box, trimmed pads, and reduced paint with color integrated directly into the construction for a lighter, cleaner, more durable finish. Everything is simplified for connection and response.
- Stiffness. Reduced weight and increased torsional stiffness deliver faster reflexes. A refined flex profile enhances responsiveness through turns while maintaining control at speed. Pads & Straps.
Re-designed dual-density pads provide better grip, comfort, and durability. A new reduced layout and optimized dual-density blend mean you have the right support and cushioning where you need it, whilst saving weight and minimizing drag. The new square pattern is angled just right to give you maximum grip and connection to the board. A surf-inspired tail kick pad gives you that locked-in feel during air moves and turns.
Best-quality neoprene and fit MFC ® foot straps, with a size measurement guide. Set them as single-centered, offset, or double screw. Cover is compatible with or without shoes. Asymmetric washers let you custom-fit the strap width around your foot.
Finboxes & Fins
Quatro ® US mast track and fin boxes, designed in-house and exclusive to Quatro/Goya, are lighter and stronger by design and bonding than conventional boxes. 4 x 5.5-inch US Boxes are 50% lighter—100g per box to minimize weight and seal the Carbon Monocoque™ construction.
MFC ® Quad Carbon fins are designed and constructed to match the Custom Quad 9, with a focus on ultimate speed and rail control. With a narrow core and added surface area at the tip, it provides enough support from the fin surface for earlier planning with high-speed rail-to-rail control. The Carbon Composites lay-up boosts Top Speed with progressive Torsion.
Boardbag.
MFC board bags are engineered to provide a protective solution utilizing high-durability materials and moisture-management technology. A streamlined, no-wall design optimized for daily use, commutes, and light travel. EVA Padded carry handles and shoulder strap compatibility.
