The Duotone DUKE is a 5-batten sail for intermediate to advanced riders who want maximum wind range and precise handling in wave, bump & jump, and freestyle conditions.
The 5-batten layout gives you more control and a wider wind range, especially when conditions are gusty or constantly changing. Keeping a 5-batten sail light enough to feel nimble is the real challenge. Duotone's answer is the LIGHT DONE RIGHT construction. It replaces traditional multilayer reinforcements with a single high-quality fabric layer and adds the ONE PIECE SLEEVE, bringing the total weight down by 300g compared to conventional constructions. Critically, the film and XPly panel thickness stay the same, so the sail holds its shape under load and stays responsive in your hands. This rigidity in the material is also what supports the DUKE's 5 YEAR WARRANTY.
The BATTEN FREE CENTER concept leaves a larger gap between the foot batten and the batten above the boom. The boom area inflates more easily. The denser batten spacing toward the top keeps the profile stable in the strongest gusts.
A high, forward-oriented draft position delivers two clear benefits. First, the DUKE planes early, even without aggressive pumping. Second, it goes completely neutral the moment you sheet out or shift the sail. That clean power-off response directly raises your success rate on tricks and jibes. The same forward draft generates lift for jumping and keeps you in control from takeoff to landing.
Because the DUKE's draft position mirrors most modern freeride sails, this sail slots seamlessly into any quiver without getting used to. You just get the same familiar power delivery on your freewave stuff as on a bigger freeride setup.
