LIGHT WIND SPECIALIST
The RBB V8 is built for 0–16 knot winds and flat-water spots where the majority of raceboard events are decided.
HIGH PUMPING RESPONSE
With each pump, the sail generates forward drive efficiently and recovers its shape quickly.
PROVEN IN COMPETITION
Developed with the highly-decorated Loftsails Raceboard Team — sailors who tested, refined, and took the design to the podium. Every performance characteristic in the RBB V8 has been validated on the race course.
Blade Mast pocket
Downhaul tension is evenly distributed between the mast panel and mast pocket, creating a firm, clean leading edge with smooth, reliable rotation.
Dacron Mast Sleeve
Dacron in the upper mast sleeve keeps weight low at the top of the rig. SU250PE material in the lower sleeve provides wear resistance and longevity where downhaul tension is highest.
High Visibility Panels
4 mil X-Ply in the main window and panels positioned along the mast pocket create a clear forward sightline when racing.
Carbon Batten System
Lightweight carbon tubes provide excellent stability in upper-end conditions. By pairing longer rod sections with rear-shifted carbon tube segments, the battens create a shallower entry profile that reduces drag and encourages smoother, quicker cam rotation.
TekCam3
The TekCam 3 is 35% lighter with smoother rotation and support for higher batten angles. Raceboardblade versions include an added Velcro strap to secure cams when trimmed very soft.
Metallic Cam Interface
Prevents wear at contact points, ensuring long-term durability and smooth cam function.
Reinforced Panels
5 mil bi-axial X-Ply at the foot handles repeated contact between the sail and the board. 3.5 mil bi-axial X-Ply at the clew and head corners absorbs the higher loads those areas carry under racing tension — the clew panel reinforcement also protects the zone around the longest batten during rolling, handling, and storage. A double-width seam between the clew panel and window panel adds resistance to high outhaul tensions without adding weight elsewhere in the sail.
Side Alternating X-Ply Batten Pockets
X-Ply batten pockets match the stretch characteristics of the surrounding sail panels, keeping the profile consistent under load. Alternating the pockets from one side of the sail to the other minimises the asymmetry created by underlying panel seams — the result is a balanced profile on both tacks and a smoother, more responsive feel on the water.
Exposed Tack
Allows installation of adjustable downhaul systems for precise, on-the-fly tuning during racing.
Tack Strap with Eyelet
Strap tension remains independent from downhaul load, allowing precise tack control without altering sail trim
